How to transfer photos from iPod to your computer with iPod Photo Transfer utility?
Step 1: Free download iPod Photo Transfer trial version here, and then install it. Skip this step if already done.
Step 2: Connect iPod to your computer.
Step 3: Launch iPod Photo Transfer and all the photos in your iPod will display automatically, screenshot as follows:
Step 4: Select the photos to be transferred to your computer, the selected file will marked with red border. You can select photos by click on each one, or just drag a rectangle to select a bundle of photos. You can also select all photos by click right button of your mouse.

3. Backup Path: To select directory for storing the backup photos. You can select backup directory for each photo during backup by check "Ask Every Time" or store all files in a specified directory by checking "Save Here" and select the directory in the edit box.
4. Backup Full Resolution: To check this checkbox, if you have choose "include full-resolution photos" in iTunes when sync photos to iPod, you can get the full resolution photos when you transfer photos by iPod Photo Transfer.

Why Can't I Transfer Photo from iPod to Computer?
1. The Program Reading the Photos about 30 Seconds Freezes and on "Windows Task Manager", "not responding " Displayed. Why?
Answer: Apple developed several versions of iPod, each of them had several resolutions for photo displaying: full screen, thumbs... So, the photos stored in iPod isn't the original images, they are rearranged, when you have large number of photos, iPod Photo Transfer need some time to read the photo data in your iPod. Please wait for some minutes let the program read your iPod.
2. Can iPod Photo Transfer Convert the .ithmb Files on My Hard Driver into JPEG or BMP?
Answer: Sure, iPod Photo Transfer can read .ithmb files:
Copy your .ithmb files and the associated "Photo Database" to a disk (for example D:\) in structure as below: D:\Photos\Photo Database (Driver D: can be other one)
D:\Photos\Thumbs\*.ithmb (All your ithmb files)
Just as they are organized in iPod, then run iPod Photo Transfer, you can read and transfer them now.
3. Why can't I get the original resolution image, but a low quality instead?
Answer: Apple stores several resolutions for each picture for different displaying purposes: full screen, thumbs, photo list... So, the photos stored in iPod isn't the original images, they are rearranged.
